Structure of a meeting

The club meets on a weekly basis with a full program of events.
A typical meeting will be structured as follows:

TIME EVENT
8:00pm Club President – Opens the meeting and provides an update on forthcoming events and news from Toastmasters International.

He introduces Sergent of Arms who welcomes new members and explains the club’s fire procedures.

He also introduces the Secretary who reads out the minutes/events of the club’s last meeting.

The control of the meeting is handed over to the Toastmaster.

8:15pm Toastmaster – Welcomes guests, opens the meeting and introduces the people who will be performing meeting roles:

Wordmaster – explains their role.

Timer – explains their role

Poem Master – Introduces and reads out their selected Poem.

8:20pm Topics Master – Manages the topic session.
9.00pm Meeting Interval for 10 mins.
9:10pm – Close Club speeches, followed by Speech evaluations.

General Evaluator – Gives an evaluation of the meeting

Awards Given for best topics response & contributor.

Toastmaster – Closes the meeting.

Please note the club holds special events (i.e. speech debates, educational sessions, Club Speech events) throughout the season as well.
